We started soaking a pound of dry beans this morning in water. After a long soak we began boiling the beans. They soaked up a lot of water at both times.
Once the beans were soft we added some cubed up ham that was leftover from a half of ham we made a few days ago.
We added water to the ham and beans in one of our oven safe dishes and began baking the soup.
I can’t wait to dip some soft bread into the soup later as I eat a bowl.
Soup always tastes better when it’s cold and snowy outside.
