Homemade Pickles

We have so many cucumbers! Even though we all love cucumbers, even Josie, we can only eat so many of them. So we decided to make homemade pickles!

The whole house smells like pickles!


The canning jars are getting sterile.


We made our little mixture to flavor the pickles. We had to get the mixture hot. The recipe to make the mixture has been passed down in the family.


We cut the cucumbers up into spears like we would like our pickles to be when we open the jar!


The spears were added to the jars and then we added the mixture to each jar leaving head room. We then put each jar in the pot to boil for 15 minutes.

All the jars sealed and in a month at the very least we will get to try them. We can’t wait!
