Selling Eggs

We have a sign in the yard at the edge of the road to advertise that we have fresh eggs for sale!

Jane's This-N-That
The sign that we have to let people know when they can stop to buy fresh eggs!

I am now getting between 8-9 eggs a day and am becoming overwhelmed with the eggs very fast. I am selling them from home but unfortunately the grocery store had their eggs on sale for 69ยข a dozen this past weekend so sales were slow. I am not discouraged and will continue selling eggs. I am ready to take them to the auction next Monday to sell them that way, as a lot of people love going to the auction to buy their brown eggs.

The chickens are doing great and I am planning on increasing my flock size in the spring!

To reduce the mud in their run we have been getting wood chips for free from a local township crew that chips the wood along sides of the road.

The chicks love bananas as a treat! Josie and I peel them but give them the peel and bananas. They have fun eating them!

  1. Your new sign is lovely and I’m sure it will attract lots of people who recognize that your eggs are better than any they will find in the grocery store!

    1. Thank you very much! I’m shocked that store eggs can already be 2-3 months old and farm fresh eggs are only a couple days old, farm fresh is definitely better! I love your blog as well. Thanks for stopping by mine.
